Cancel scheduled or pending payments in Mercury Personal

You can easily cancel scheduled payments or payments pending approval from your Payments page.

Canceling a payment you just sent

ACH and domestic wire payments are processed almost immediately and thus unable to be canceled after the fact.

If you sent a payment by check, you can cancel it on your end as long as it hasn't been deposited yet. Simply head to your Transactions page, open the payment that needs canceling and click the cancel icon.

Canceled checks can take 0-3 business days to reflect in your account. You can review the status of the cancelation on your Transactions page. Note: Checks may still be printed and mailed to the recipient even if they are already cancelled. They will not be deposited successfully.

Canceling a scheduled payment

  1. As an admin, go to Payments from the left sidebar menu on your dashboard.
  2. Under Payments, click on the Scheduled tab.
  3. Select the payment you want to cancel and click on the trash icon.
    • If you need to skip a single payment in a recurring payment, you'll need to cancel the entire series and recreate it.
  4. You’ll be able to review details of the scheduled payment and confirm you want to cancel.

Canceling a payment pending approval

  1. Go to your Payments page.
  2. Click on the Needs approval tab.
  3. If you're an approver, click the payment you want to cancel and click Decline.
  4. If you created the payment, click the payment and click Cancel Request.

Canceling an international wire you just sent

You can cancel an international wire sent from your personal account wizthin 30 minutes of creating it—either from the confirmation screen or your Transactions page. After that, the wire is final and can’t be canceled. Learn more about cancelations and disputes here


Canceling payments on mobile

For scheduled payments:

  1. Click the middle  icon on the bottom menu navigation bar (Payments)
  2. Under "Scheduled Payments", select the payment you want to cancel and you’ll be able to review details of the scheduled payments
  3. Click Cancel Payment to confirm you want to cancel


For payments pending approval:

  1. Click the first 🏠 icon on the bottom menu navigation bar (Homepage)
  2. Under “Tasks”, select the payment you want to cancel and you’ll be able to review details of the payment request
  3. If you’re an approver, click the payment you want to cancel and click Decline
  4. If you created the payment, click the payment and click Cancel Request
