Virtual cards are activated automatically. For physical cards, the card number (otherwise known as PAN) is available for use immediately for online purchases and as a part of an Apple or Google wallet. The physical card will need to be activated prior to your first in person transaction.
Here's how to do it:
- Go to app.mercury.com/activate and make sure you’re logged in with the Mercury profile associated with the card
- Alternately, you can go to your Cards page, click on the Unactivated card next to your name, and click the blue Activate button
- Enter the CVC code
- Create and save a new PIN, which you can change anytime
