IO account holders are required to pay off their full statement balance on a regular schedule — daily or monthly, depending on your IO card type. To help manage this, Mercury requires you to set up automatic payments when you open your IO account. This article covers how autopay works and how to make a manual payment outside of your regular schedule. To learn more about qualifying for monthly repayments, see Qualifying for IO.
How IO autopay works
Autopay is set up by default when you open your IO account. You can configure:
- The day your payment processes (for those with a monthly repayment schedule)
- A primary account to pay from
- A secondary account to use if your primary account doesn't have enough available funds at the time of payment
You can edit your autopay settings at any time on your Credit page, as long as you don't currently have a payment due.
Paying off your balance early
Making a manual payment lets you free up available credit outside of your normal autopay schedule. You can do this at any time.
Here's how:
- Select Cards from your left-hand sidebar on web and click Credit
- Near the top, select the Pay button
- Input your payment amount and the account you want to pay from, then select Review and Confirm Payment
The IO Card is issued by Patriot Bank, N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Mastercard International Incorporated.
