Mercury Treasury helps you earn yield on idle cash by investing in high-liquidity, lower-risk mutual funds. Here's how it works and why teams use it.

How Treasury earns yield

  • Funds in Mercury Treasury are invested in mutual funds, which generally seek to offer a yield
  • These funds typically provide higher yields than traditional savings accounts, though yields vary and are not guaranteed
  • You can view the latest yields anytime at mercury.com/treasury 
     

Portfolio options

You can allocate funds between two investment options in 10% increments:

State Street Institutional U.S. Government Money Market Fund: Mercury Class (MRGXX)

  • A fund that seeks income with same-day liquidity* and principal stability
  • Invests at least 99.5% of its total assets in cash, U.S. government securities, and/or repurchase agreements that are collateralized solely by U.S. government securities or cash
  • Liquidity: 0-1 business days*

    *​​"Same-day withdrawals" only applies to funds invested in the State Street Institutional U.S. Government Money Market Fund: Mercury Class. Cutoff for transfers to settle same-day is 3pm ET each business day, subject to partner processing times. Read fund prospectus for additional information.

Morgan Stanley Ultra-Short Strategy Portfolio: Mercury Class (MCRYX)

  • An ultra-short bond fund made up of cash equivalents and short-term assets i.e.commercial paper and certificates of deposit.
  • Liquidity: 1-2 business days

Access to your funds

  • You can withdraw money from your Mercury Treasury account at any time — the time it takes to transfer out will vary depending on which fund the money is invested in
  • Delays may occur due to account standing
  • Treasury deposits and withdrawals typically take 0–2 business days
