Managing your Treasury account

Here’s what to expect when funding, withdrawing, reallocating, or viewing statements for your Treasury account.

Funding your Treasury account

  • Transfers before 12 PM PT typically settle the next business day
  • Transfers after 12 PM PT may take up to 2 business days

Withdrawing from Treasury

Funds typically settle in 0–2 business days, depending on your portfolio:

  1. Securities are sold
  2. Mercury waits for settlement
  3. Funds are wired from your Treasury to Mercury checking account

  • Same-day availability is possible for funds in the J.P. Morgan U.S. Treasury Plus Money Market Fund (if initiated before 3 PM ET)*
  • Funds in the Morgan Stanley Ultra-Short Income Portfolio can take 1–2 business days to settle

*"Same-day withdrawals" only applies to funds invested in J.P. Morgan U.S. Treasury Plus Money Market Fund. Cutoff for transfers to settle same-day is 3pm ET each business day, subject to partner processing times. Read fund prospectus for additional information.

You can review your portfolio allocation from your Treasury page.

  3. Review your current allocation and compare fund options

Closing a Treasury account

Closing a Treasury account requires a few steps before our team can process the request.

Note: Once a Treasury account is closed, it cannot be reopened on your existing Mercury account. If you'd like to access Treasury again in the future, you would need to open a brand new Mercury account and apply for Treasury from there.

To close your Treasury account, first bring your balance to $0. To withdraw funds, transfer them to a Mercury checking account — direct transfers from Treasury to an external account are not supported.

If you held funds during the month, a final net return may post within the first 5 business days of the following month. Net returns are automatically reinvested, so be sure to move those funds out right away — waiting could result in another return posting.

Once the balance is fully zeroed, the account holder on file can contact our team for help closing the Treasury account.
