Gathering your documents

To complete a Mercury application, you'll need the following documents:

Your company formation document

This is what's on file with the Secretary of State in the US state where you're registered.

For certain qualified Non-US Entities based in the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, United Arab Emirates, Bahamas, Bermuda, Singapore, or Jersey, it would be the document issued by the country where the business entity is registered.

Please note that we can only support startups, e-commerce, and venture capital companies for non-US entities.

Your IRS-issued EIN document

You'll need to submit one of the following IRS-issued documents:

  • Form CP575
  • Form 147c
  •  SS-4
    • If you submit a SS-4, please ensure it is not just the application, but the returned version from the IRS.

We do NOT require an EIN document from Non-US Entities.

US government ID or International Passport

We will need identification for each founder or majority owner of the company. ID documents should contain your photo, date of birth, issue and expiration dates, and identification number.

US Citizens may provide a Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, or Passport card.

US Permanent Residents or Non-Citizens may provide a Permanent Residency Card or Employment Authorization Card.

International applicants may provide a Passport.
