To complete a Mercury application, you'll need the following documents:
Your company formation document
To qualify for an account, your business must provide state-filed formation documents (such as Articles of Organization, Articles of Incorporation, or a Certificate of Formation) that confirm registration with the relevant government authority (like the Secretary of State or similar department) in the U.S. state or territory where you're registered.
Your IRS-issued EIN document
You'll need to submit one of the following IRS-issued documents:
- Form CP575
- Form 147c

- If you submit a SS-4, please ensure it is not just the application, but the returned version from the IRS.

US government ID or International Passport
We will need identification for any owner with at least 25% ownership in your company, and at least one person with operating control of the business. ID documents should contain your photo, date of birth, issue and expiration dates, and identification number.
- US Citizens may provide a Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, or Passport card
- US Permanent Residents or Non-Citizens may provide a Permanent Residency Card or Employment Authorization Card
