You should receive a decision on your Mercury application quickly — usually within 1–2 business days.
Confirming your application was submitted
You'll know your application was successfully submitted by checking the timeline on the right-hand side of your screen on web. A status of "In Review" means your application has been received and is being reviewed by our team. You can track your application status at any time by logging into Mercury on web or the mobile app.
What to expect during review
In some cases, Mercury may need additional documents or information before a decision can be made. If so, we'll send a request to the email address(es) on file — be sure to check your inbox (including your spam folder) regularly.
If 7 business days have passed and you haven't heard from us, double-check your inbox and spam folder to make sure we're not waiting on additional information from you.
Expediting your review (optional)
You can expedite your application review by connecting an external bank account. This step is entirely optional. External account linking is only available through Plaid — if your bank isn't listed, linking won't be possible. Learn more about account linking here.
Things you can do while you wait
You don't have to wait until your application is approved to get started. You can complete the following steps while your application is in review:
- Set up a virtual debit card or request a physical one be shipped — it will be ready to use/shipped once your account is approved.
- Invite team members and assign them roles — they'll be notified and granted access once your account is approved.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) — this is required for all Mercury accounts. You can set it up through the Mercury app or an authenticator app of your choice.
- Edit basic profile details by clicking your initials in the top-right corner of your dashboard.

Deleting a pending application
You can delete applications that haven’t been submitted yet by logging into your Mercury account. Click your initials in the top-right corner of your dashboard on web, select Settings, and scroll down to Delete Application.
