Company address requirements

Having valid addresses on file is crucial for account verification, complying with regulatory requirements, and sending you things like physical cards. Below are the addresses we collect, reasons why, and requirements for each.

You can view your company’s addresses from the Company Profile page within Settings.

Company legal address

Your legal address is the address from your formation documents and the billing address for your cards that appears on your bank documents.

This address must be a physical address in the United States (e.g. the address on your company formation documents, an office location, etc). We can not accept a P.O. box as your legal address. You can find more information on our legal address requirements here.

Company physical address

Your physical address is where you and your team work day-to-day. We may ask you to verify this if your legal address is a P.O. box, virtual address, mail center, or registered agent.

We collect this information to better understand our customers and meet legal and regulatory requirements. We’ll accept:

  • A verifiable residential address (if your company doesn’t have an office yet)
  • Verifiable international addresses (for overseas customers)

We don’t accept a P.O. box, virtual address, commercial mail receiving agency, mail center, or registered agent address.

We may also request documentation to verify your address. Documents must clearly show the company name, or the beneficial owner’s name, along with the full physical address (including unit numbers if applicable).

Accepted documents include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Valid government ID such as a driver’s license, resident card, etc.
  • Valid and signed lease agreement
  • Utility bill or mortgage statement from the last 90 days
  • Bank account, credit card, or other financial statement from the last 90 days. These cannot be from Mercury
  • Proof of occupancy at a coworking space such as a signed lease agreement or invoice
  • Subscription invoice from the last 90 days
  • Tax documents from the most recent year
  • Pay stub from most recent pay period

Company mailing address

We'll send physical cards and may send surprise gifts to this address. Billing statements and other account documents are available digitally from your Documents page and are not mailed to any address. You can edit your mailing address from your Company Profile page or when issuing a new physical card to yourself or a team member.

Your mailing address must be a physical address, contain no special characters, and be deliverable according to the United States Postal Service. If you’re running into issues with the deliverability of your mailing address, here are steps to troubleshoot.
