Having valid addresses on file for our customers is crucial for account verification, complying with regulatory requirements, and sending you things like physical cards. Below are the addresses we collect, reasons why, and requirements for each. You can view your company’s addresses from the Company Profile page within Settings.
Company legal address
Your legal address is the address from your formation documents and the billing address for your cards that appears on your bank documents.
This address must be a physical address in the United States (e.g. the address on your company formation documents, an office location, etc). We can not accept a P.O. box as your legal address. You can find more information on our legal address requirements here.
Company physical address
Your physical address is the office or residence where you and your team work day-to-day. We may have reached out to you to update this if your legal address is currently a P.O. box, virtual address, mail center, or registered agent address.
We require a company’s physical address in order to better understand our customers’ needs and enhance our legal and regulatory processes. We’ll accept a verifiable residential address if your company doesn’t have an office yet, as well as verifiable international addresses for our overseas customers. If you need to edit your physical address, please reach out to our Customer Support team at support@mercury.com.
We may also sometimes ask for supporting documentation if we need to verify your company’s physical address. Supporting documentation must clearly show the company name, or alternatively a beneficial owner’s name, and the company’s physical address with any applicable unit numbers. The types of documents we accept include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Valid and signed lease agreement
- Proof of occupancy at a coworking space
- Utility bill from the last 90 days
- Mortgage statement from the last 90 days
- Bank, credit card, or other account statement from the last 90 days. These cannot be from Mercury.
- Subscription Invoice from the last 90 days
- Tax documents from the most recent year
- Pay stub from most recent pay period
- Valid government ID such as a passport, driver’s license, resident card, etc.
Company mailing address
We’ll send physical cards and may send surprise gifts to this address. You can edit your mailing address from your Company Profile page or when issuing a new physical card to yourself or a team member.
Your mailing address must be a physical address, contain no special characters, and be deliverable according to the United States Postal Service. If you’re running into issues with the deliverability of your mailing address, here are steps to troubleshoot.
