Sending international payments

On Mercury, you have the ability to send payments to eligible countries in 40+ local currencies.

How to send an international wire

  1. Go to Move Money in the upper right corner of your dashboard, then select Send.
  2. You can also create a new payment by going to your Payments page and selecting Create Payment.
  3. Either upload a bill you’d like to pay upfront, or directly select/create/invite a recipient.
  4. When filling out the "Recipient" section, select International Wire - USD or International Wire - Foreign exchange as payment method from the dropdown and click Next.
    • Once a SWIFT code is entered, the wire details form will automatically update to request the necessary information for the recipient's bank and country. Please ensure a valid SWIFT code is provided to proceed.
    • You will also have to provide an IBAN (International Bank Account Number). Please double check that this is correct with the recipient.
  5. In the "Amount" step, select your currency (if sending in non-USD) and amount, payment account, and send date (you can also indicate whether you’d like to repeat the payment).

For countries that require documentation, you may need to select "I’d like to provide additional information" and fill out a description of the payment reason, indicate whether or not you plan to pay this recipient in the future, and upload any supporting documentation such as an invoice or a contract.

  1. Next, tell us more about the Purpose of the wire using the dropdown options.
  2. In the “Details” step, you can include optional additional details related to the payment such as memos or attachments. You can also add any email addresses you’d like an email receipt to be sent to when your payment processes
  3. Finally, review the payment details and click Send Payment or Schedule Payment.

Tracking your payment

Wires usually process within 2-3 days of the scheduled payment date.

Once sent, you should be able to view details (reflecting the USD amount deducted from your account) from your Transactions page.
