Admins and users with transfer permissions can move funds between accounts within a single company (e.g. checking to savings) or between Mercury and a linked external bank account.
Here’s how to do it:
- On web, in the upper right corner of your dashboard, open the Move Money menu and select Transfer. On mobile, tap the middle ⇄ icon on the of your bottom menu bar, then tap Transfer
- Input a dollar amount and select the accounts you want to transfer to and from. If you need to link a new external bank account, scroll all the way to the bottom of the "Transfer to" dropdown and click Link a bank account
- Review the details on the final screen and click Transfer
Transfer timelines
Between Mercury accounts:
- If both accounts are at the same partner bank, funds usually arrive within minutes
- If the accounts are at different partner banks, transfers typically take 1–3 business days
- Treasury transfers follow our typical 0-2 business day timeline, depending on your portfolio
Between Mercury and a Plaid-linked external account:
- To Mercury: Transfers from an external Plaid-linked account typically take 3 business days to clear
- From Mercury: Transfers to a Plaid-linked account typically arrive within 0–1 business days
