Automatically forward receipt emails to Mercury

Mercury will automatically match receipts to the right transaction when you email or forward them to receipts@mercury.com. To make this process even easier, you can set up forwarding rules in your email account to automatically forward receipts from your card transactions to Mercury.

Setting up email forwarding in Gmail

  1. Add receipts@mercury.com as a forwarding address in Gmail here
  2. Find a receipt email associated with your IO card that you expect to see repeatedly (for example, the Square receipt for the coffee place around the corner that you go to every day)
  3. Open the settings for that message and select Filter messages like these (see Gmail's instructions)
  4. Select the option to forward emails like these and select receipts@mercury.com from the dropdown (see Gmail’s instructions)
  5. Select Create filter
     

Verifying autoforwarding with Gmail 

  1. After selecting Create filter you will receive both an email and a notification within your Mercury account
  2. Follow the link in the email or head to mercury.com and login
  3. Select your Tasks page and click the item regarding allowing auto-forward receipts
  4. You will be taken to your Profile page in Settings - from here, select Allow
     

This will only be necessary the first time you setup an automatic forwarding rule with your Gmail email.
