Viewing cashflow and transactions data on your Transactions page

You can analyze cashflow, top spend, and transaction trends directly from your Transactions page. This guide shows how to use graphs, filters, and table tools to review your finances in real-time and speed up end of month close.

View your cashflow and top trends

At the top of the Transactions page, you’ll see two real-time graphs designed to help you understand how your money is moving:

  • Cashflow:
    • Displays money in and out over time, defaulting to the current month. View daily changes by hovering over the graph.
    • The graph is dynamic and will update based on any filters applied to the Transactions table – so whether you’re slicing by category, account, or timeframe, you’re always looking at the right data.
  • Top Money Movements:
    • Quickly identify your top five sources of cash inflows and outflows, ranked by volume. Use the dropdown in the top-left to group by Account, Card, Merchant Type, Category, and more.
    • Once selected, the graph will update to show the sources of the highest cash movement – green bars for money in, red for money out.

Filter, sort, and group your transactions

Use the Transactions table to explore or organize your financial data in more detail:

  • Quick Filters: Narrow down your view of transactions by Date, Amount, or Keyword
  • Advanced Filters: Click the Filters menu to apply more specific filters such as Category, Merchant Type, Team Member, Method, GL Code, and more.
  • Customize Menu: Allows you to:
    • Sort transactions by Date, Amount, Account and more
    • Group transactions by Merchant Type, Card, Category and more
    • Adjust the timezone used for displaying dates
    • Show or hide the graphs at the top of the page

Grouping transactions adds collapsible section headers with money in and money out totals, making it easier to review specific segments of spend. Grouping actions will also update the graphs to match.

Save and reuse filtered views

You can save a combination of filters as a Data View:

  1. Apply any combination of filters in the table
  2. Click Create View, give your view a name, and hit Save
  3. Access your saved views anytime from the Data Views dropdown

We’ve created a few default views to help you get started, including:

  • My transactions
  • Monthly money in
  • Monthly money out

Edit and clean up transactions

The Transactions page lets you refine and enrich your transaction data quickly and accurately.

  • Inline Editing:
    • GL Codes: If you’ve connected an ERP, select a GL code from the dropdown to add it to a single transaction and sync it to your integrated accounting software.
    • Categories: Once categories are set up, you can assign them to transactions via the dropdown.
