Depositing money overview

You have several options for funding your Mercury account: wiring money from an external account, sending an ACH transfer, depositing a check, creating a SAFE, or sending a payment request. All of these can be accessed from the Mercury dashboard through the Deposit flow. Below is an overview of the methods available, how they differ, and links for further information.

Note: Only users with full Move Money permissions will see all the options mentioned here.

Wiring from an external account

You can make a deposit by sending a domestic or international wire in USD to Mercury from an external account. Start by retrieving your Mercury account wire details, then log in to the external bank account you want to wire from and use those details. Incoming wires from a domestic account typically arrive in 1-2 business days and international wires in 3-9 business days.

Linking an external account

To add funds from another U.S. account, you can link that external account to Mercury via Plaid. Once linked, you’ll be able to pull in funds from external accounts via the Deposit flow. External transfers are sent via ACH and should arrive in 3–5 business days.

Depositing a check

To deposit a check, follow these instructions. Funds should appear in 1–7 business days.

Creating a payment request

To request a payment, follow these instructions. Arrival depends on your recipient’s payment method.

Creating a Mercury SAFE

To create a SAFE, follow these instructions. This is a common method for C-Corps.
