FAQs

How do I pay for a Mercury subscription?

Payments to Mercury subscriptions are withdrawn from your primary account balance. Therefore, it is important to ensure you have sufficient funds each month, your account will be in a 7-day grace period until the payment is made. Afterwards, you will be unsubscribed from the plan and lose access to any features.

When am I charged for my subscription?

The billing cycle begins on the first of the month, so monthly subscriptions renew on the first of the next month and annual subscriptions renew on the first of the same month, next year. If you subscribe or upgrade after the first of the month, you’ll be charged immediately for a pro-rated amount based on the remaining days in the current billing cycle.

What happens when I unsubscribe or downgrade?

Unsubscribed or cancelled accounts will have access to the plan until the end of the term (month or year depending on the plan). Downgraded accounts will also have access to the plan until the end of the term, and will be moved to the new plan at the start of the new billing cycle.

Please note that any time-based features associated with your plan, such as recurring invoices, will be cancelled once you’ve unsubscribed. Please plan accordingly to avoid any disruption.

Why am I paying sales tax for my subscription?

Certain states require sales tax on software-as-a-service that is delivered. If your legal address on file is in one of these states, you will see a sales tax on your monthly invoice. You can read more about sales tax here

How are overages or fees charged?

Any overages or fees on top of your monthly/annual subscription (e.g. ACH debit transactions are $1/mo on Mercury Plus), you will see the total on the next monthly billing statement.
