If you're a user on a Mercury Business account, you may be eligible to have your Mercury Personal annual subscription fee waived. This article explains who qualifies, how long the waiver lasts, and what happens if your eligibility changes.
Mercury Personal is a separate product from Mercury Business. This benefit applies to pricing only and does not change Mercury Personal enrollment requirements, eligibility criteria, or how the product works.
Who is eligible?
You may be eligible for the subscription fee waiver if all of the following are true:
- You are a user on an active Mercury Business account in good standing
- You meet Mercury Personal’s eligibility and verification requirements (including U.S. residency, SSN, and valid ID)
- You apply for and open a Mercury Personal account, agree to the terms of use and customer agreements, and remain in good standing
A “Mercury Business user” is an individual who has been added as a team member on a Mercury Business account and assigned a role (such as Admin, Employee, or a Custom role with defined permissions).
Eligibility is evaluated on an ongoing basis. If any of these conditions change, your eligibility for the subscription fee waiver may change as well.
How long is the subscription fee waived?
Your Mercury Personal subscription fee is waived as long as you continue to:
- Be a user on a Mercury Business account
- Remain on a Business account that is active and in good standing
- Mercury continues to offer this fee waiver
There is no separate action required to maintain the benefit while you remain eligible. Mercury may modify, suspend, or discontinue this benefit at any time. If the offering changes and the subscription fee is reinstated, you’ll receive advance notice and have the option to cancel your Mercury Personal account before being charged the annual renewal fee.
What happens if my Business account status changes?
You may lose the subscription fee waiver if:
- The Mercury Business account is closed, frozen, restricted, or otherwise no longer in good standing.
- You’re removed or deactivated as a user on the Business account.
If this happens, your Mercury Personal subscription will revert to the standard annual subscription fee. You’ll receive advance notice before the fee is applied and will have the option to cancel your account instead.
I'm a Business user, can I open a Mercury Personal account?
Yes. If you're eligible at the time of signup, your Mercury Personal annual subscription fee may be waived once your application is approved.
To apply:
- Log in to your Mercury Business account
- Click your org name in the top-left corner
- Select Apply for a new account
- Choose Mercury Personal and complete the application
Applying from within your existing account helps ensure your accounts are properly linked and that your subscription is evaluated for the fee waiver. If you've already applied or run into issues, reach out to personal@mercury.com.
