Countries where Mercury cards are restricted

Due to regional and international regulations, policies, and sanctions, there are a number of countries in which Mercury credit and debit cannot be used, shipped, or issued to. This means that if you attempt to make a card purchase within one of the below listed countries, or an online card purchase with a merchant whose legal address is in one of the below listed countries, the transaction will be declined.

You are unable to use any Mercury cards, regardless of bank partner, in or for merchants located in the following countries:

  • Afghanistan
  • Angola
  • Bangladesh
  • Belarus (Republic of Belarus)
  • Bhutan
  • Burkina Faso
  • Central African Republic
  • Congo (the Democratic Republic of the)
  • Congo (the)
  • Cuba (Republic of Cuba)
  • Eritrea
  • Gambia
  • Haiti
  • Indonesia
  • Iran (Islamic Republic of Iran)
  • Iraq
  • Kyrgyzstan
  • Latvia
  • Lesotho
  • Liberia
  • Maldives
  • Mali
  • Mozambique
  • Myanmar
  • Nepal
  • North Korea (DPRK - Democratic People’s Republic of Korea)
  • Palestine
  • Russia
  • South Sudan
  • Sudan
  • Syria (Syrian Arab Republic)
  • Ukraine (sanctioned regions: Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea)
  • Uzbekistan
  • Vanuatu
  • Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of)
  • Vietnam
  • Yemen


This means any card transactions attempted with merchants based in these countries will be declined after this date. This applies to all Mercury debit and credit cards associated with your account.
