Mercury can help you automatically detect recurring subscription payments on your cards, making it easier to track and manage ongoing payments to your vendors.
To access a list of recurring transactions Mercury has identified as subscriptions, simply navigate to your cards page under Cards > Card Subscriptions.
On this page you be able to:
- View active (and canceled) subscriptions, including the merchant, last payment, frequency, and the card the payment is associated with
- Filter by card, merchant, and subscription status
- Select the subscription to view the most recent history (as well as link to the Transactions page already filtered to the specific merchant) and make changes
Canceling a Subscription
By selecting a subscription, you will see two options to proceed with canceling a subscription.
Manage subscription on merchant website - this will link you directly to the merchant’s website where you can work with them to edit or cancel and ongoing subscription
Cancel Subscription - this will block further payments processed by this merchant on this particular card. If the card in question is locked to a merchant, Mercury will instead freeze the card so you can resume payments should you choose to.
The ‘Cancel Subscription’ does not notify the merchant and simply places a payment stop on your card. Because of this, depending on the terms of the subscription, you may still owe the merchant for failed payment attempts. Merchants also may be able to continue processing payments depending on their terms of use, and should this happen we recommend reaching out to the merchant to fully cancel. We will also work with you to dispute any incorrectly charged transactions that the merchant can’t help to remedy.
Canceled subscriptions will continue to display on this page (though marked as canceled) for your records.
Removing a Subscription
If Mercury has incorrectly identified a series of transactions as a subscription you can remove it by clicking into the subscription and selecting the ‘…’ in the bottom right of the Subscription details panel and choosing ‘This is not a subscription’.
Note: At this time this action cannot be undone.
