What’s the difference between a virtual card and a physical card?
Physical debit cards are shipped to you via USPS. These debit cards can be used anywhere that accepts Mastercard.
Virtual debit cards are unique cards with no physical counterpart that have their own card numbers, expiration date, and CVC code. Virtual debit cards can be created at any time from the Cards page of your Mercury dashboard and can be used immediately.
Virtual debit cards can be used to make online transactions anywhere that accepts Mastercard, and are a great option if you need to make purchases while you wait for a physical card to arrive.
What are the fees associated with using a Mercury debit card?
We don't charge any transaction fees for use of your Mercury debit card. This applies to both U.S. domestic and international transactions.
If you use your debit card to purchase something in a non-USD currency, MasterCard will set its own conversion rate. You can get a rough idea of MasterCard's conversion rates here.
Does Mercury charge ATM fees to withdraw money?

Can I send Instant Payouts to my Mercury debit card?
Yes! Instant Payouts sometimes experience slight delays that are dependent on the card processors, but the transfer will be completed within a few hours and is much faster than sending an ACH or wire to your account.
What countries will Mercury debit cards not work in?

What does it mean if I have a pending transaction in my card activity?
A "pending" card transaction means the merchant either hasn't fully authorized the payment or it hasn't completed the payment failure yet.
We give merchants 30 business days to process or cancel the payment before we manually cancel it.
If you're seeing a pending amount that's greater than your purchase, this is a pre-authorization. These charges remain pending for a few business days before they either settle for the correct amount or fall off of the account.
