Joint bank accounts are shared by two or more joint account holders. All account holders are named on the account and have full control over the account and the funds in it.
Opening a joint account
You can be an account holder on one individual and one joint account with Mercury Personal. To open your Joint Account:
- Log in to your existing Mercury Personal account and click your name in the top left-hand corner
- Click Apply for a new account
- Select Joint Account
- Follow the prompts to invite joint account holder(s)
Once your applications are approved, you and the other account holders will get access to the joint account.
Here are application statuses you may see:
- Joint account application pending
You’ll get access to the joint account once the applications of all invited joint account holders are approved. - Joint account application denied
Applications of all invited joint account holders must be approved to open a joint account. If one or more of the applications are denied, the whole joint account application will be denied, too.
